Review: Logical step up from the D300s - UPDATE: I've had this camera for several months now and honestly, I love it. I did purchase Nikon's 50mm 1.8 lens as a prime and WOW. That little piece of glass produces some amazingly sharp pictures. I also purchased the Rokinon 14mm wide angle as well and it too produces very nice images mounted to this frame. My primary use for this lens in real estate photograph, mostly interior work. My next big lens buy will be the new Tamron G2 70-20mm/ 2.8 zoom and I think that will do it. I've been out taking pictures every chance I can, exploring the capabilities of this amazing camera. Next week it does into the studio for some glamour shoots. I'm sure it won't disappoint. I had been thinking about moving to the full frame platform for some time. I weighed the pro's and con's of the D810 vs the D610, got confused and ultimately didn't buy either. Then I stumbled upon this beauty and I couldn't resist any longer. My purchase through desertcart was painless and it was just this past week that I got a chance to get out and experiment with the camera and 24-120mm bundled Nikkor lens. I took the camera to the SF Auto Show at the Moscone convention center. Shooting in doors and, in some instances, pretty low light, meant some careful adjustment of white balance which, of course, this camera as well as my D300s handles effortlessly. The more revealing problem the low light situations uncovered was the slowness of the lens. At wide open, its f4, which is not great. The effect is that the ISO needed to be boosted to around 5000 in order to get an adequate shutter speed to insure the resulting picture was sharp and clear. My biggest concern was that the noise at 5k ISO would cripple the shot. I set HIGH ISO NR to "on" and started shooting. The results were great. No noise, clear and crisp shots. While the 24-120 f4 lens would probably not be my first choice for this camera, the fact that it came bundled together at a price point I could afford makes it a good starting point for building my stable of FX lenses. For now it appears to work just fine. This is a great combo, body especially for serious photographers and enthusiasts. The attached photo is a Pagani super car. The ambient light around this car was very low. The car is a dark purple, sitting on a black carpet with black drapes as a back drop. I shot this free hand, (a tripod should have been used) at 1/13th at f5.6 ISO 4k. The resulting picture size is 16megs (shooting FINE/Large). Hope this helps.
Review: A fantastic and versatile camera for professional use. - Fantastic camera. Before I bought this camera I shot 90% of my professional work with a Canon system (I began using the Fuji X series during the summer of 2014) but when I read early reviews for the D750 I decided that it was time to switch. I came from using 2 Canon 5D Mark III's and Canon L/Sigma ART glass to a comparable Nikon D750 system and I haven't looked back. The file quality alone just blows any professional Canon body out of the water. The detail in shadows and highlights is unbelievable. The autofocus works in near-dark. Seriously. The first wedding I shot with my D750's I was able to keep shooting in ambient light HOURS after my Mark III's would have stopped hitting their AF. The tracking is also really great, I have no problem shooting professional and collegiate sports with this setup as well. The ergonomics on the D750 are great. The grip is nice and deep and all of the buttons and dials are right at your fingertips. The dual SD card slots are great, and I haven't missed all of my old compact flash cards one bit. One more quick thing: I shoot a whole bunch of video, multiple hours worth each week. The prevailing opinion on Nikon was that their video capabilities were definitely inferior to Canon, and I had found that to be true prior to the D750. Nikon has taken video seriously with this body and the HD footage it produces is stellar. The only downside is that it stops recording every 20 minutes, the 5D3 had added the ability to automatically parse files after 20 minutes and keep on shooting. Unfortunately, the D750 does not include that feature and it does prove to be rather annoying, but that is the only thing I miss from my Canon days. I can't recommend this camera more strongly.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the best walk around lens for Nikon D750? Is the image quality above average in the kit lens 24-120mm f/4G ED VR AF-S NIKKOR ?**
A: I have had the 24-140mm f4 for over a year (bought it to use on my D300s before the D750 was released). I have had outstanding results. It is a bit of a misnomer to call it a "kit lens", which usually applies to the lower-end lenses included with entry-level cameras. The 24-120mm is fully in line with the other high-quality f4 lenses Nikon has released in the last few years. I believe you would have to go with the very expensive f2.8 zooms or quality primes to exceed the 24-120's capabilities.

**Q: Is this the newest version of the 24-120 f4?**
A: Yes, the old version was 24-120 3.5/5.6

**Q: I have a Nikon D5100 with a couple of non Nikon lenses. Will these lenses fit/work with the D750?**
A: They will work but I would not recommend it. The lenses will put the D750 in DX (crop) mode working at 10mp. You will be loosing the advantage of the full frame and the 24mp resolution. The best option is to get the D750 with 24-120 F4 as a kit. They call it a kit lens but it is actually one of Nikon's professional lenses (gold ring). I use it and it is outstanding for a zoom lens. Hope this helps.

**Q: Are there any 18-200 FX lens available for Nikon D750? If not, what is the closest available lens.**
A: There is not a 18-200 FX lens. There are 24-120mm or 28-300mm. The 28-300mm is the one you want to use. I used the 18-200mm DX lens on my D90/D7000 cameras, and got the 28-300 for the D750. I also purchased the D750 with the 24-120 lens as it is marginally smaller than the 28-300 (lighter too but not by much). If you can only get one and need the longer range for outdoor use, get the 28-300 but if you're primary use is indoors with occasional outdoor use, get the 24-120

*by E***0 on October 18, 2017*

My dream camera finally in my hands. I owned a D7100 for several years and have taken intensive photography courses which have taught me a great deal. However they all Focus (Excuse the pun) on full frame cameras. Well after weeks of research I finally decided on the D750 coupled with the 24-120 F4 zoom. What a fantastic camera. Has plenty of pixels for anything I would print, is solid and well built, Focus is amazing, dynamic range, clarity, speed, low light capability, this has it all. I could have waited but the newer cameras are simply going up in MP and adding things like touch screens, which I'm not a fan of on a camera and of course price. I grabbed this while they still make them. This model is a real gem and I highly recommend it. One word of caution, there is a bundle listed here with a DX lens. Be careful. It costs less, but that is because it is a cropped lens and will not cover your new expensive full frame sensor. You can enable "autocrop" but you will lose MP, clarity and quality. The DX lens is lower quality so lower price but know this up front it is not intended for full frame camera use. It will fit, but you won't be happy. Spend the extra few dollars so you wont be dissapointed and get one of the bundles with the full frame lens (Anything NOT marked DX). Don't limit your new fantastic D750.
