And this is why- the nipple is larger and has less room for air to come in while your baby eats to prevent trapped gas and pain. Also, the nipple is shaped closer to what a boob is than other bottles so this really helped my baby develop a good latch. Breastfeeding for the first time can be painful so why try on your already sore nipples when you can teach your baby the proper latching technique on a bottle.
