Concerned about fading.** A: When I use Molly's with a dark load the wash water becomes very dark, blackish. I'm concerned Molly's is too strong and pulls the dye. I've observed this multiple times. I don't see this with conventional detergents. Because of this concern I will not use Molly's Suds on my darks. I did not see any fading but I bet if I continued using Molly's with my darks, I would. Maybe I have a bad batch but if not I think others would see the same thing if they checked their wash during the agitation portion of the cycle. Otherwise I think it is great for my whites. **Q: So I know what is not in it, but what are the ingrediants?** A: the ingredients in this detergent remarkablyl remind me of the popular diy natural laundry detergent that is easy to find recipe to make by yourself by googling.. It has very basic ingredients that you can use to make your own detergent.. if you look up online there are ton of recipes for this kind of detergent I follow one recipe that works like a charm..a nd is super inexpensive. 1/2 cup Epsom Salt 1 1/2 cups Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) 1 1/2 cups Sodium Carbonate (washing soda) 1/4 cup Sea Salt I don't like mine to smell but some people add this to make their to be scented.. just pick any of your favorite essential oil kind and you are set. To me it is an overkill as to me the less smells the healthier. 20-25 drops Essential Oils optional **Q: Is there a reason I shouldn't put this in the soap dispenser (my HE does accept powder detergent in dispenser)?** A: When I had resarched this a while ago, the best answer I found was it just doesn't dissolve as well. I add it to the tub first then add clothes. And I love the faint peppermint scent. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think I finally found a laundry detergent I can use! *by L***A on January 12, 2024* I gave this a shot because I seem to be allergic to almost every single laundry detergent on the market right now, but I don't know what ingredient it is I'm allergic to. So, I saw this detergent had 5 simple ingredients. If I was still allergic I could at least pay for a 5 allergen test and finally figure out what it is that my skin hates so much in detergent. Turns out I can save that money, I'm not allergic to this! Peppermint and Spearmint are two of the only fragrances that don't cause me skin irritation, and I found this by looking for a mint detergent. I gave this a very thorough test, I ran my sheets through it and most of my frequent repeats laundry. I can sleep without itching through the night now, my skin doesn't itch throughout the day anymore. This is some really great stuff. After about a month I tried wearing some of clothes that hadn't been washed with this and the itching returned immediately. I plan to keep using this as I'm genuinely happy with the performance. I saw some people having an issue with it dissolving, but I haven't had that issue, but because I read that I always let my machine do a pre-soak, usually just a 15 minute one but it seems to do the trick. My only complaint really is that the laundry at the end doesn't have a minty smell. They don't smell bad, just really clean but also devoid of fragrance. Honestly I'm fine with this, I just LOVE the way it smells and wish my clothes smelled that way. It's probably for the best as I use mint skin products and if I smell any mintier someone is going to think I'm addicted to candy canes. For the most part the stain fighting is pretty good, it struggles with grease stains but honestly so does most detergent. Some stains just need a little more care. It even managed to get out almost all of the ichthammol ointment stain our of white sheets (Which if you haven't ever used it, is a super thick and VERY dark brown almost black gel like substance, so the fact it got this out was impressive). The only bit it couldn't get where the center was, and it's still so faded I don't really notice it.
