It warms up quickly, melt down the glue sticks at high temperature, and still it doesn’t drip. I bought a 2015 Subaru Outback with light hail Damage, clean title for $11000 and now I have to deal with more than 60 hail dings. This glue gun is perfect for PDR if you can control the temperature and the viscosity of the melted glue. I use different glue sticks mostly (black, green and gray) in the outdoor temperature 67 F to 72 F. If the temperature is different then the red sticks or blue sticks are more appropriate, but till now I do not need this. Using this Glue Gun the melted glue is overheating and is too thin, like engine oil.Solved the problem using a “Lutron Credenza Plug-In Dimmer for Halogen and Incandescent Bulbs, TT-300H-WH, White.” 300 W Max. 120 VAC 60 Hz. On sale in Amazon for around $11.Using the dimmer I can control the viscosity of the melted glue. It has to be thick enough to build a 5/32” or 4 mm thick layer on the pulling tabs. There are many factors that decide the grade of dent repair from 70 % to 95 %, and the glue temperature and viscosity is only one variable.The most important factors are the surface has to be clean, in some cases using 3M 3000 polishing compound. The ambient temperature has to be 70 F. The dents has to be detected using PDR light Board. Each dent has a crown (if symmetrical) or a crest (if asymmetrical). Without defeating the crown or crest you won’t be able to pull the dent. Using excessive force you can invert the dent creating a volcano. Dent repair means 40 % pulling and 60 % tapping. You need appropriate tools for each process.Each dent has a different personality and needs a specific strategy to be pulled.Be patient and go slow. Do not try to fix the dent with 1 or 3 pulling. Watch the videos. Start with a junk car Door or Hood. Using trial and error you will learn. In my case I started with a junk door of a BMW Z4. After I started on the roof of the Subaru. Do not try to fix the dent totally, in one attempt. If there are many dents you have to treat all in the same time.
