Like most my first purchase was a professional set of knives and like most my choice was Wusthof, which are known for professional steel, sharpness and longevity. My Wusthof are now over 40 years old and just as serviceable as the day they were purchased.I saw this Tabnovo 8 inch Chef Knife and because of the low price couldn’t help, but see what it was like as it had the appearance of a high quality knife. I have to say the full tang knife handles beautifully, came very sharp and is holding its edge remarkably well. Add the finish and workmanship of this knife makes it an absolute bargain. The handle is made of an attractive impregnated laminate, which should hold up. Of course any knife of any kind of quality should only be washed by hand in warm soapy water, dried and then depending on the grade of steel possibly wiped lightly with cooking oil.
