It’s bright enough to start a few trays of seedlings or grow one plant to full size. With only two fans, its very quiet, yet it remains cool which is the most important factor in LED longevity. It’s very sturdy and you can tell its high quality the moment you unpack it.As a 1000W equivalent model it’s quite bright, but only draws 0.37A in VEG mode, 0.95A in BLOOM mode, and 1.3A in VEG+BLOOM mode. That works out to about 150W when running at full power and has the equivalent plant growing capacity of a 1000W HID lamp. This is in part due to LED efficiency (much-much less heat generated) and in part due to specific wavelengths that plants utilize most being emitted. The VEG mode is slightly pink and the BLOOM mode is absolutely red. The UV and IR LEDs are a great addition because the natural light of the sun exposes plants to these wavelengths as well as to visible light and triggers growth responses in the plants that red/blue LEDs alone wouldn’t.This light now comes with a tempered glass protective LED covering and remains cool to the touch even when running at full power. The lights can be daisy chained if necessary, but the selling point of this light is certainly it’s compact size. It’s built to the same high quality standard that other iPlantop lights are built from and, in fact, is literally a smaller more compact version of their 1500W LED grow light.The seller is so confident that this light will stand the tests of time, they offer a 36 month warranty on it. I have witnessed this product line improving and responding to customers’ requests for some time now and I’m very happy with what iPlantop produces. I have this small 1000W equivalent LED grow light hanging in my kitchen and I use it to grow herbs while illuminating the room at the same time.The light comes with a high quality 4 point hanging cable harness and an adjustable nylon cord with carabiners on each end to position the light just above the plants. If you happen to need to use a voltage other than 120VAC, you can use any standard DTOL cord and supply any standard AC line voltage.There was a time when LEDs came out and began to compete with CFLs, then came the dual chip LED, and now the triple chip LED. The triple chip LEDs are in fact brighter than double chip LEDs, but the main benefit is in the energy savings.
