No battery included. That said, we would hold the wires to a AA battery from time to time, just to make sure all the mechanics were functioning properly. **Q: How long does it take for a 10-year-old child to assemble a robot?** A: We build the robot by ourselves and it takes around 3 hours. **Q: Is there a book with directions available online?
