All of the Petzls I had seem to be delicate and break over time. This Princeton is definitely more durable that the Petzl and I am happy I chose this to replace the old Petzl. I like it and bought another one as a back-up as I always seem to misplace things. Seriously, you can't go wrong with this one. The lamp will initially turn on in red mode (for night vision optimization) and that allows you to not give away your position with a white light that can be seen over longer distances. This is great if you are not trying to give away your position. That aside its very easy to toggle through the settings and the battery life is pretty decent for a light at this price.
