I found that prices for the configuration & quality I needed were just too high, so I came to Amazon to see what I could find. This bag came in at 1/2 the price, literally, of most of the retailers I shopped, so I figured it was worth a shot. I am very happy with this bag and glad I chose this route! It is of sufficient quality to last at least a couple of years (likely much longer), it really does repel water very well, and its fit-and-finish is better than expected. If I had to find something I didn't like, it'd be that the padding on the bottom could be a little better/dense under the laptop compartment. I'll add my own piece of foam and call it all good at this price. What I like is that it is expandable, has a dedicated storage "pallet", for cords and what-not, and is well designed and even has room for a corded-, full-sized mouse. There is easily room for an storage (padded) insert. Which I had and took out of my old bag. It's by far, the best bag I found amongst the hundreds I looked at here. I love the fact that it's expandable--just like a suitcase--but is very compact when the expansion is not needed. The material seems nice enough.
