During a continuous course of therapy, the pack can be left in the slow cooker on “Warm” whenever it’s not in use, so it’s always ready to go. Don’t use the “Low” setting or you may burn your skin. For that reason, the recommendation to “boil” a pack is not only not necessary, but could make this pack dangerously hot—and it might damage the pack over time, shortening its useful life. FYI, some small clinics use slow cookers instead of the large commercial water baths that can hold multiple packs. I was surprised to see that a rehab supplies seller said to put it in a hot towel cabinet. I would recommend confirming that with the manufacturer before trying it. These packs are designed to be used wet, and you’re not supposed to ever let them dry out after the first use, which a hot towel cabinet would almost certainly do. I would definitely NEVER microwave one while dry (as you would a rice pack).
