Opened it up and looked like it hadnt been used.Using a Ryzen 2990WX processorInstalled and BIOS shows no CPU temps. I loaded Ubuntu where I can see all the temps fine from the CPU - so this looks like a motherboard problem. MSI said to return but its really annoying thing to do - as have to take out all the components and CPU to do that.
