The 2 tubes connected with the metal thingy on the original looked bad anyway. It was obviously a way to cut down on shipping/packaging costs. I ordered this from Amazon: Hiland SGT-GLASS Quartz Glass Tube Replacement, 49.5' Tall 4" diameter. You need to cut it down to 41", which is not as scary as it sounds. You can use a glass cutter to score it and give it a light tap and it will snap off. **Q: Can this be used in a large garage?** A: Hi, We don't recommend to use this unit indoors **Q: Has anyone found a one piece tube that works?** A: We have not.
