And it was mostly kids who ate the fruit -- it's very delicate and perishable: I've never seen loquats in the market. One mom used to make loquat jelly and it was ok, if not spectacular. We threaded the big brown seeds and wore them as necklaces till they got dry and the papery brown seed cover dropped off.
