On the back of the clock was a marked spot to place a AA battery, which I did...then waited...to hear a hum or something that would indicate it was working. It was silent, so I tried another battery and the little clock stayed silent. I assumed it was a dud clock. So. Okay it was so cheap, but still cute I hung it up in the on the wall anyway and walked away.
