They last forever. The only thing is I'm growing old. It became too heavy for me. The STAY Music Keyboard Stand Slim Model is perfect. It is less than 1/3 of AX-48's weight. I can either use it for one keyboard and a laptop or 2 keyboards. I use light keyboards now -- Korg Kronos 61: 32 lbs and Korg Krome: 16lbs. They fit well on this stand. When baged, it's lighter than my dual Mic-stand bag -- amazing. I have yet to test out how durable they are with rehearsals and gigging.
