XLEDIA invented a unique patented technology which we call "THERMAL TUNNELING RESISTANCE" or TTR. TTR creates a thermal tunneling effect which enhances air particles that tunnel through the heat sink and carries out heat generated by the emitters. TTR reduces the weight of a bulb by up to 60% and improves the cooling efficiency by up to 15 degrees celsius. High Performance Substrates: XLEDIA developed high thermal conductive materials such as aluminum nitride and beryllium oxide which are applied on our substrates. High Efficient Power Drive: When our high performance substrates and TTR technology are combined for cooling, the power drives are kept at a lower temperature. This lower temperature extends the bulbs life time by up to 50,000 hours. Don't really like the shape either. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best LED bulbs i've bought *by R***2 on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on January 21, 2015* I bought two of these bulbs (2nd one was the cool white version) to use in an enclosed ceiling fixture, and they do live up to their promise of running cool. After hours of use the fixture is barely warm to the touch. I had a couple CFLs in there before and the surface of the fixture would almost burn you. They definitely project more light forward than to the side, but it is dispersed nicely and there is no sharp cutoff on the light pattern. Definitely worth the price for an enclosed fixture. For an open one there may be cheaper options. I was surprised to see they only have a CRI of 80.
