I got a collet that reduces from 1/4 to 1/8 off of ebay for a couple of bucks and chucked it and small pieces of these rods up in an end grinder. After a little practice and actually turning one crack into a hole I figured out the technique and speed to set the grinder at. After that the rod melted into the crack excellently and I was even able to fill the hole. This stuff bonded better than any silicone or epoxy I've ever tried. I pushed on the area and it didnt shift at all. Seems as strong as the original material. You can tell it's been repaired as the area welded is not as shiny as the rest of the box. But I'm more worried about making it water tight than it being super pretty. Although I'm left to wonder if I ran over it with some high grit sand paper if it would shine up and may give it a try.
