Silicone?** A: I'm not sure what they call it but the lint rollers that pick up lint and dust that has a tacky rubbery surface that once it's fill you need to run it under a water faucet to wash the stuff off the cylinder and it's similar to that. No it's not a true wax like wax pens or if you attempted to run it over a fine nail sand paper item as told to rekindle the tack would destroy the tip right away. I recommend running in water first and using adhesive tape like scotch tape roll the tip or tips around and over the adhesive to pull off the dust and debris. I know a lot of people say or think it's wax but it's not. Maybe there's some element of wax in part of the formulation of the tips but I don't believe there is. My Inky Fingers on Youtube uses this as a monitor stylus on a Scan and Cut brother machine. NO one would actually want to leave a waxy smudge on their screens so even though the lady mumbles it's wax it is not. **Q: How do i make it sticky again** A: Per the instructions on the package, use some tape to pull off lint and/or fibers to make it tacky again. Great tool, loving mine! **Q: Won’t pick up anymore. What do I need to do** A: Rinse the tips of the jewelry picker and it should start to pick again. Sometimes glue and dirt can dull the ends. Hope this helps. **Q: Is this good for picking up self adhesive jewels?** A: Works well for picking up all kinds of paper crafts and self adhesive jewels.
