The writing immediately made me feel as if I was about to experience something special and the story didn’t disappoint. In the beginning, the author does a good job trying to catch the reader up to speed with the events of book #1 while still moving the story forward. I don’t think it’s necessary to read the first book to enjoy book #2, but I recommend picking up book #1 if you are a fan of the series. There is more action in this book than the first and the story is picking up some steam. Although the characters go to London, we still get the campfire stories and tales like in the first book. We also learn more about the urban legends surrounding the town of Cahokia Falls which appears to be the title of book #3 in the series. Review: Good books so far - The storyline is very good but Nathan is weaker than I would prefer. The plot development is slow also. The action picks up rather quickly in Drawing Bloodlines. These kids are a walking magnet for danger and violence and so many times I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting in anticipation for what was going to happen next. There are so many twists in this story that open up so many more questions then the first book did. Yet, we also get a few answers in this book. This is a great story with all of the elements I like to see. Alan has become one of my favorite characters, he is such a typical teenager with his bellyaching and sarcasm. In general this is a well rounded groups of teens with amazing abilities and a desire to learn the truth that is threatening to destroy them. I highly recommend this series for adults as well as YA readers. I am looking forward to the next book!!
