I went to order a pair but noticed that most of them are now made in China or some other Asian country. When I think of docs I want British made boots!I did some research and learned about solovair, this is the company that made all docs boots in England. Solovair has not moved any of their production off shore, they are still all made in England. They don’t offer a cheap product, all of their boots are premium. I also read that whole docs quality has slipped and they’re “not what they used to be” the solovair boots have remained great and they are the same quality as the original docs. The air cushion sole is the same, the leather is the same, they’re made in the same factory. From everything I’ve read the solovair boots are actually superior to the docs.As far as these boots go they are fantastic. The leather is like nothing I’ve ever seen, it’s shiny and smooth, the texture is almost rubber like. They are also extremely light weight. I was surprised when I took these out of the box. I’ve always had an image as to what a pair of docs was like and this wasn’t it. It was surprising but, not in a bad way. The boots fit very well and were comfortable from the moment I put them on. I’ve worn them all day at work for the last 2 days and they have been extremely comfortable and supportive. The soles have excellent grip and great padding. They stay tied tight all day long and look really good while they’re doing it.There are only 2 “issues” that I’ve had. First is that they squeak, badly. When you step it sounds like when you walk on snow. The second thing is that where the tongue meets the toe cap there is a small flap of leather there and when you put your foot in it folds down and causes a pressure point on top of your foot. It sounds dumb but I put a piece of tape in there to keep the flap from folding down and these have been the most comfortable boots I’ve worn.All in all I am so glad that I ordered these. You get great looks, incredible comfort, and the pride of wearing a quality pair of British made boots. There is nothing to not love. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exact Brannock Sizing *by L***K on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2019* I am very experienced with leather boots and shoes, but have always wanted to try a pair of Docs. After reading about the history(which I do for all brands I buy), I decided the best way to get original style docs was to not buy docs at all and get some Solovair boots.To start, these are my only pair of not full-grain leather footwear. The corrected grain leather looks very uniform and smooth which is good for matching the look with my other clothes.These boots are EXACT to the brannock device. They are not a size big or a size small, they will be your actual foot measurements on the most widely used measuring device in the world. I purchased a Men's US Size 9 and these are about an inch shorter than Allen Edmonds of the same size, 3/4 inch shorter than my Red Wings of the same size, a 1/2 inch shorter than my Danners of the same size, a 1/2 shorter than my Chippewas of the same size, and I think you can catch the drift here.The outsoles are immediately more comfortable than any other shoe I have, including the Vibram Cristy wedge outsole and the Vibram gumlite outsole.Ignore the 2 star review as they have no idea what they are talking about. If you look into what you buy ahead of time, you would know that these aren't made to be waterproof, and the process of creating corrected grain leather makes it seem like a coating or shell was put on, however it is just a high gloss finish that involves removing the rough outer layer of the skin.As my least expensive footwear, these are already some of my favorite and it has only been a few hours.
