Basically, eat perimeter of supermarket (after 2 weeks) and stay away from sugar and refined foods, The galette is good, a little odd. but it is an tasty way to get fiber....you feel like you are eating breakfast or lunch. If you skip a meal, and say, try to have fiber in a drink, psychologically you might say I haven't eaten today. the galette subverts that thinking. You should weigh your portions I was very much surprised , even with my tiny hands, what 3 oz of steak was. If you can't follow now (because Holidays , whatever) my suggestion is don't go on for a week, then stop. You will be disappointed. It is carefully calibrated. I would order this one if someone is reading this and not sure about the difference between the other book and this one which I think has a more turquoise cover .I lost 12.5 pounds in 5 weeks and found it easy.
