First, to answer the question, I weigh about 400 and had the earlier version of this chair (Coleman Max) for more than a decade. Still have it. I abused it badly. Heavy person, uneven terrain, not careful, etc. No problem. I just got this chair and it's identical to my Coleman Max If you're big, buy this chair. It's more comfortable than any other, including my much bigger and higher weight rated chairs. Here's why: look at pictures of other similar folding chairs and take note of how the front supports (the x shape at the front) to through the seat sling/fabric at the front. The x shaped supports directly hold the seat bottom. The problem with that is if your legs are wide, the bars up front put some pressure on the outer sides of your thighs. Even if you're not that big, the typical design tends to naturally push your legs together. Now take a close look at this chair. Those x shaped bars up front DO NOT directly hold the seat's fabric up. The fabric where your legs go is supported by bars parallel to the ground that go from back to front. The result is no pressure points pushing on the outer parts of your legs. I can sit in this chair comfortably for hours and hours. No other chair I've tried will do that. Years ago when I realized that no other chair was as comfortable as my Coleman Max, I've been trying to get more. They stopped making them and I never found it. I did one last search recently and found this one. It's the same exact chair with a different name! I knew it immediately when I saw how the front of the sling was supported. Bought one just to make sure it's right. Got it today, say in it and knew immediately that my search was over. I can finally retire my beat up and trashed Coleman Max now that I found they still make them. I'm probably going to buy like 6 of these things before they disappear on me again. **Q: I'm 5'4 and would like to know if my feet will dangle or will my feet be flat on the ground? Anyone have issue with the chair poking the outter thigh?** A: Joni, I believe you will be fine with this chair, I'm 6'3", but my tiny friend Vikki fits fine it them too, very comfy all in all.. **Q: How high is the seat off the ground?** A: Up to back of knees. My husband is 6ft and 350 lbs and he’s comfortable sitting in it. We bought 3 of them and only one failed but I think it’s from sitting on a rock camping. One of the legs bent and it wobbles now.
