As with most (maybe all?) pH testers, you have to keep the sensor wet. So there's no way to store the tester in the hard case and keep it wet. Overall, this was a good purchase and it seems to work well. It's only annoying to have to store it in a cup of water or calibration solution. Review: it works - Remember to calibrate at the proper temperature, if calibrated to a different temp the reading will be inaccurate. Also it seems to need to be re-calibrated every week... I keep it stored in pH solution and it still needs re-calibration. I've had two of these and the first one worked great for several years. After I had goofed up with it and it had dried up about a dozen times I replaced it (calibration wasn't sticking it seemed like). New one has been flawless since purchase and I'm now very conscious of proper storage.
