The top part comes off and you fill the tank from the top. We live in Arizona and have three of these. **Q: The 'Cream' unit appears 'White' in the photos. Does anyone own this color that can report back: white or 'cream' as listed?** A: It appears that this colour is white **Q: That window in the front. Does it show the water level?** A: Then neither of you, who answered prior to me, have THIS model. Because yes, the MH-701c DOES have a window as shown in the picture... **Q: Does it come with the demineralization filter?** A: I don't know. At first I was concerned at the size of it. If you're looking for something small, this IS NOT the unit you want. It stands 33 1/4" tall with the top on and 18" without it. It's 8" across. You can adjust the mist to go in two different directions, which I like, or concentrate it all in one direction. It's cool mist, so no chance of getting a steam burn. I don't notice any water droplets on any surface. With a more than 1 1/2 gallon capacity it is great that you don't have to fill it every day. In fact, I've only filled it two times in the two weeks I've had it. Some days I run it on low all day and turn it up at night, other days I turn it off for part of the day, but always run it on high at night. There are 4 mist settings. There is an audible beep when changing the settings which can be turned off. I purchased this for my bedroom as I was having trouble sleeping because of the dry air up here in the Colorado mountains, above 7,000 ft. I would wake up at night unable to breath. Since I've used this humidifier, I have slept like a baby. I have not added any essential oils to the unit, so don't know how they would work with it. I may try it someday. I think it's a perfect height for being on the floor at the side of the bed with the mist being directed across the bed. I have it set up about three feet away from my bed. It's easy to fill, clean and set up. This is a high quality humidifier and I'm glad I purchased this and would recommend it. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Shelf Life *by J***. on Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2019* Shipped fast. After reading the directions and setting up it worked well. I used on a regular basis this past winter and part of this one. After taking care to keep clean and proper storing when not in use it decided to stop misting. The pump runs but no longer makes the mist. I went thru all the possible trouble shooting guides. I had no success in fixing. It's sad that $100 + type products only last a year and a bit.
