If I needed it I could have easily fit another outfit or jacket. Mind you I use a separate bag for My toiletries, makeup, hair dryer etc. I love this bag simply for the fact that it doesn’t let me overpack but I can fit all the clothes I will need for 3 to 4 days. It's strong, the right size, and a pretty color. If you dive into the nitty gritty of airline luggage requirements, you'll find that 75% or more are not actually carry-on compliant - usually because wheels and handles aren't included in the measurements. Will it technically fit in the over-head compartment? Yes. Will you likely need to check it because it doesn't exactly meet the requirements? No. But on the slim chance they make me put my bag into one of those sizing boxes and it's too big, I don't want to check my stuff. With that said, I downsized to a piece I knew would be compliant. I'm generally a light packer, so this works for me.
