They are very thin, almost like needles. They leave literally no more than a pinhole in the wire. I have used the spring loaded all one piece wire piercing probes before. But these work better. You put the plastic piece over the wire. It is short, about 3 inches so you can manuver it into tight spaces. Then you push the pin down the plactic tube. Boom! you are in the wire.I can see that these very thin tips are going to be useful in other ways as well, for example, getting into the back of various plugs and connectors to get readings.You will have to buy a set of banna plug leads to use with these. that's how you get from the wire piercing tip to your meter. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Meh, cheap cheap and not so fun *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on October 9, 2021* This is not the screw type wire piercing probe. The power probe and more expensive tools have a screw fitting so the needle does not slip out. I have used 3 of the 4 so far and 1 does not stay tight.
