Unfortunately, they weren't low enough. This device makes films almost unwatchable. The main reason for this is that the lamp fan is entirely too loud. Even with the audio hooked up to a speaker system, I can hardly make out the dialog in the film as it must compete with the whirring of the fan. In addition to this the picture quality is really quite bad. Even for a cheap projector, it should at least be clearer and sharper the smaller you make the image on the wall. However, I find that it is equally dull, diffused and blown-out regardless of size. The color and contrast controls are primitive and don't allow for any fine tuning.
