While both give a good effect right after the lights are turned off, these last through the entire night whereas the others fade away after a couple of hours. I have used several kinds in the past and these are by far the best. That said, you should be aware that none of these will do well in a room that is not dark. If a TV is on, for instance, they are very hard to see (unless you are using a black light). But in a dark room they look very realistic. I put up 2 packs over an 8 foot by 16 foot ceiling and they look amazing and very realistic. They don't take a lot of light to charge, although a bright light will make them brighter. Experiment to see what charging level works best for you. The other thing about these is that they are very easy to move around if you decide you don't like where you have placed them. I was trying to get the major constellations right and found that I could rearrange them as necessary until I got it right.
