Review: Excellent choice for one entering middle school - My daughter is adjusting to starting her first year of middle school. Her teacher requested her to bring in chapter books for her reading period. So, I gifted this to my daughter a few days ago and she has had it by her side ever since. She really enjoys the story, as well as the illustrations. The hardcover option is also nice for her to keep it intact between home and school.

My daughter is adjusting to starting her first year of middle school. Her teacher requested her to bring in chapter books for her reading period. So, I gifted this to my daughter a few days ago and she has had it by her side ever since. She really enjoys the story, as well as the illustrations. The hardcover option is also nice for her to keep it intact between home and school.

My son does not like to read, but I bought this book for my son's 12th birthday, after I saw the ad on TV, hoping it would hold his interest. I read it first and I was hooked! I couldn't put it down! It was well written with real life kid and family issues that you can relate to easily. It was funny and entertaining and had great pictures in the book. My son, stayed up 3 nights in a row to read this book by flashlight!!! He loved it. I have never found a book to capture his interest so well. Since I had read it first, I asked him questions about what he had read and then would give him teasers to keep his interest peaked to find the answers. He texted me in the middle of the night to tell me about "Leo", a character in the book. (ha-ha) This is a fabulous book for a middle school boy. My son and I highly recommend it - even for those finicky readers!!!
