    Needs a step-down transformer for correct wattage in the US

The *brand* was recommended by my stylist/colorist. I liked the style thinking of the feature and size (for traveling). This version is not dual voltage and needs a step-down transformer for use in the US. I wished it explained this in the description. I looked online and it costs WAY more to buy the appropriate transformer, especially for the wattage, than I paid for the hairdryer. Like 3x the cost and the unit is bulky. Defeats the purpose of travel size. Also, it arrived later than expected, so I ended up buying another one (different brand entirely, arrived super-fast) to take with me on a trip. Not sure it's worth the hassle of trying to get return authorization and shipping it back to Japan for a reduced refund. So, it will most likely sit in a closet until e-waste/hazardous waste drop off day.

It used to be a very good hair dryer. But after 1 year use, it start having electric sparkles and burning smell from the cord when turn on. I've stop using it.
