Choose love and acceptance! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great self help book! *by L***6 on January 29, 2020* If you have similar characteristics to me, then this book will help you. In a nutshell I’m: an over-thinker, analytical, emotional, anxious, strive for fairness, care what others think of me because I want to/am always willing to change myself for the better. I read this book a few years back to help get through some struggles with in-laws who were also my employers. Yes, the book may seem silly, as one of the other reviews said. However, if you allow the entire book set in, you’ll find that it helps in unforeseen ways. Read on for a very personal experience/review regarding this book. Twenty years ago, my family moved across states when I had two years left of high school. Personal anxiety made it difficult for me to establish a new circle of friends, but went steady with a guy for 1.5 years before we graduated high school. College made for some very rocky circumstances. After stringing me along for a couple more years, and hiding from me that I had actually become a mistress to him and his now current wife, there came an abrupt halt to all communication. With an impending high school reunion around the corner, I had attempted to reach out to this particular ex because my personal experience has taught me that when I have a better understanding of circumstances and to know where I stand ahead of time, it allows me to cope with my anxiety and actually boosts my confidence. Come to find out that he has blocked me on social media and brief email correspondence he confirmed that he does not want me to ever reach out to him again. Normally in a situation like this, I would blame myself and itemize all of the mistakes I made that would compel him to erase me out of his life entirely. All of it left me feeling angry and hurt. This book really helps me gain perspective. I’ve been able to step back and realize that he isn't trying to hurt me, but rather that he needs to remove me from his life because he does not know how to handle his own past discretion. I will not let all of my personal fears of what “I think he thinks of me” scenarios overshadow the truth of my situation. I would not have come to this personal resolution without “Letting Go of Fear”.
