Review: Great Headset for Razer Enthusiasts - In March 2019 I picked up the Razer Nari Wireless Gaming Headset. The thing boasted THX spatial audio, cooling gel-infused cushions and a noise-canceling microphone. Wanting to simplify my mobile gaming setup with my Late-2018 Razerblade 15 I went ahead and purchased this off of desertcart for a pricey $129.96. I was able to cut down quite a bit on the overall price by passing on the $199.99 Nari Ultimate headset with haptic feedback. Upon arrival, the unboxing was as impressive as any premium razer product. I still have the box sitting in my house to this day because I feel so guilty about throwing them away. There just seems to be so much work that is put into the design of their packaging. I also couldn't have been happier with desertcart's quick shipping and delivery, I know what people say about desertcart, but they provide awesome service. I remember the days of waiting for my 20 GB Maxtor HDD that I found on Pricewatch taking two weeks to process and ship to my house. Upon arrival, I immediately realized how large and heavy this headset was. I was also glad that I didn't purchase the even larger Nari Ultimate headset. Upon initial use, I was surprised by how light and comfortable this headset was on my head. The only discomfort that I found was from wearing them while laying on the couch. Their size was a bit prohibitive when laying my head into a pile of pillows. However, while sitting upright and gaming (their intended use) I found that they were extremely comfortable. I did not get the usual strain from too much pressure being applied by the headset. The cooling gell was also a nice touch especially when you first put them on. Overall I would almost rate them as comfortable as my 2013 Sennheiser PC350 headphones that I use on my main gaming rig still to this day. As for sound quality, the audio from the 2.4 Ghz wireless transmitter has always been great even at a crowded LAN party with lots of interference from other systems. Definitely got a good sense of direction from the 7.1 surround sound when Playing Player Unknown Battle Grounds (PUBG) or Counterstrike:Go. Additionally, the low-frequency range available makes them great for listening to music or watching a movie. The only complaint that I have is the Microphone is not quite as good as the microphone on my aforementioned Sennheiser headset. Don't get me wrong it's pretty good but for whatever reason when I am at a gaming event the channel dedicated to Mic Input seems to be very sensitive to interference. This created moments where I had to reposition my laptop in order to not sounds like a robot. When gaming at home I have never had any issues with the mic quality. te about Wireless Headphones: I will say that having a wireless headset has made me more aware of battery anxiety. I find myself topping off my headset prior to heading out for the day or the weekend. I just don't want to find myself mid-game with no headset and no available charging cable. I will say that the battery on the Razer Nari seems to be pretty sufficient and I've used it for a full 12-hour gaming session at a LAN without running out of juice. After having used the headset for about eight months now I can say that I definitely would have purchased them again. Especially because it pairs so well with the Razer family of products. If I didn't have a Razer Blade laptop I might have gone with another pair from Sennheiser or SteelSeries. That being said if you are already bought into the Razer Family product line I think this headset is a great buy. If you're not, save your money and go with something a little less pricey but with similar functionality.
Review: An excellent product for how much they cost. - Before you read this review you should know that I am not an experienced person with audio, I have never used audiophile headphones and I've never used anything above $150 headphones. Having that said if you still care about my opinion continue to read. Onto the main talking point. In my opinion, Razor did an excellent job tuning the drivers. The sound quality is amazing and when you put them on it feels like you're in your own personal space. There is no active noise canceling in these headphones but there is noise isolation. In my personal testing, the microphone when they're Wireless sounds just fine, It's nothing professional-grade but if you just want to talk to your friends it'll do just fine. RGB works just as expected nothing more nothing less. They've stayed cool for long periods of time, never getting uncomfortable. And the ear cups are also really easy to clean, you quite literally can just pop them off but they stay on really well. So you don't ever have to worry about them falling off during your gaming session. They also auto-adjust so when you put them on, you don't ever have to really mess with them to get them to fit right. And yes they are heavy they do weigh just about a pound. But trust me you get used to it. They're so comfortable that after a while you don't even know they're there anymore. The only thing that I don't like about it is that its micro USB but I'll forgive that since this is a 2017-2018 product.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I use this for my Xbox one**
A: This Razer Nari Ultimate has 3 different models for the same headset. If you picked the all black (Ps4 & PC version) which on the box says it's compatible across all platforms it is, but not wirelessly. You'll have to plug in with the 3.5mm jack to play one the Xbox one & Switch. (I had that version & returned it. You'll have to purchase the Xbox One Edition which is a green box & the headset is black & green. It should only work with the One & PC wirelessly. I've had zero issues of my mic not working on Xbox One. (Volume up & down, mute/unmute.) You Press mute button to mute/unmute.

**Q: How long does it last for until you need to recharge it again?**
A: It depends on what style you get and what features you enable. For the Essential or with chroma and/or haptics disabled, you get about 20 hours. With chroma, 12. Including haptics and chroma, 8.

**Q: Is this 7.1 surround sound on ps4 or pc only**
A: THX is 7.1 sound with electronic enhancement. Yes - it supports immersive 7.1 positional surround sound on my xBox One

**Q: Can you listen to the wired and wireless connections at the same time from different devices?**
A: No. The wired function will override the Bluetooth.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Should you buy?
*by A***R on April 29, 2020*

Background -------------- It has been a year and a half now that I have had this headset, and have basically used them pretty much every day since then, so I will also be comparing how they have held up since I first bought them. I mostly use them for PC, however, I have used them on PS4 and all of the same pros and cons apply. -------------- What I like -------------- - Comfortable: These are one of the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned, and are still one of the only headphones I can wear for a long period of time without getting a headache. Other than some very minor wear and tear, the cushions have held up very well. - Battery Life: Although the battery life has shortened a little over the years, they still last a decent amount of time, and can sometimes go an entire day without needing to charge. When eventually I do need to charge them, it can take up to an hour or two in order to be fully charged - Sound Quality: Once you turn off THX Spatial Sound, the sound quality is very good, and definitely helps you out in games like Call of Duty or CS:GO when you are trying to listen to footsteps. They also perform well when listening to movies, songs, and other types of media. - Durability: I have dropped these headphones many times on my wooden floor, and I have yet to see any noticeable damage to them. In fact, I can't even see a scratch on them at all. - Portability: These headphones are light, durable, wireless, and come with a slot to put your USB connector in to. Personally I have not traveled with them, but if you are someone that travels a lot and needs a pair of headphones, I would definitely recommend them to you. - Style: Although this a very minor thing, I personally enjoy the look of them, and being able to customize the RGB lights is always a plus. - Options: If you aren't a fan of wireless headphones, these do come with an aux cord to plug into your device with, and can also be used wirelessly with the PS4. - Range: Another minor thing is that can be used from around 20-30 yards away if needed. - Noise Cancellation: These aren't the most noise-canceling headphones in the world, but they are pretty decent. -------------- What I dislike -------------- - Charging: When it comes to charging the headphones while I'm not using them, I have little to no problems. However, if you plan on using them while they are charging, get ready to have to deal with a MAJOR headache. For whatever reason, when you charge them with the cable while they are on, regardless of how much charge is left in them, they will constantly turn off in random increments for about 30 minutes to an hour, making most games unplayable, but we're not done there. Most of the time when the headphones turn off, they make a beep signaling that they have just turned off, however, sometimes there won't be a beep, which you might not notice if you are talking to other people or playing a game that has quiet moments, which can be extremely annoying. This problem has only gotten worse over time. Glitches: When I first got them, I wasn't experiencing too many bugs, but over time I have had random beeps that are extremely loud, annoying, can last up to 10 seconds, and cut off audio from my PC. (These beeps are separate from the ones that signal that the battery is getting low.) Also, if you have the power saving option turned on and the volume is too low, there's a chance that your headset will turn off, regardless if there's still sound playing or not. There are also many other glitches that I have encountered over the years, but can't name off the top of my head. Mic Quality: With a headset at this price, you would not expect to get a microphone that has this poor of quality. I have had $10 mics that I've ordered off of amazon that sound better than this one. If you are specifically looking for a headset with a good microphone, this is not the headset for you. No Bluetooth: If you are looking to use these headphones wirelessly with anything else other than a PS4 or a computer, you are out of luck. These headphones do not have Bluetooth and instead connect through a wireless USB dongle, which also creates a new problem, as Razer cannot replace it if it breaks or is lost. (I understand that Razer made this decision because many people don't have built-in Bluetooth into their PC, but I still wish it used Bluetooth instead of a USB dongle.) -------------- Should you buy? -------------- DEPENDS - If none of the cons concern you, then I would say yes. - If at least one of the cons concern you, I would highly suggest looking at other headsets before deciding on buying this one.
