She never pinned - she used cans of tuna to hold down her patterns. I sewed from age 16 (with a 40 year career hiatus) and used ONLY pins. So now I'm retired and getting back into sewing. While searching the internet for new and improved options, I found these and thought of my parents' sewing friend. THESE ARE AWESOME! I like them because they have a good weight and feel to them, and slide much more readily than a can of tuna. (Bean-bag weights were another option but they won't slide as readily.) I wanted to ensure that I had plenty so I bought 2 tubes. One would have been plenty.
