Quality-wise, I would be thrilled with this dress for a themed work party or Halloween costume. However, I needed this for a 1920s wedding and it seemed a little on the cheap side. Of the three Amazon 1920s dresses I got though, this one was my favorite. The gold pattern is really distinctive and I didn't see anyone else with the same dress at the wedding. And it was clear that the majority of ladies had found their 1920s dresses on Amazon as well. Ha.The other issue the dress had was similar among all three Amazon dresses I tried. The front and the back of the dress are EXACTLY the same. There is no front or back of the dress. If you are model-like in shape (not a lot of curves) this might work out fine. I have an hourglass figure though, and I found that the dress stretched around my hips and butt, and created an unattractive pocket of saggy fabric at my lower back. If you have an hourglass figure, I'd suggest sizing up for a very loose, flappery look. Looks really nice on, very slimming and easily a formal. It did run about 2 sizes too small. I usually wear a 14 in pants and ordered an XL, and it fit like a size 10/12. The black lining underneath was really hard to pull down and get it to where it needed to be, and it didn't line up very well. However, it is really pretty and looks very nice on. Plus, I want to wear it so badly that it is a great motivation to lose enough weight to be able to wear it confidently. This dress would turn any mans head and make any woman green with envy. And for the price it looked as good or better than some of the more expensive dresses I tried. I wore this to a company banquet and received so many compliments. The dress is very stretchy and hugs your curves well. I ordered an XL and it ended up being very big so I exchanged for a medium. The only complaint I have is that the dress is super long.
