You can mark it with your thumbnail if you really want to so I was pleased to see that it arrived with only one damaged part. The damage was minor enough to be easily repaired with some wood putty. The other (minor} problem was that all the boards had marks left by the manufacturers' depth planer. These marks run across the grain and are not very obvious but will visually "pop" if/when the wood is stained. So I sanded all the boards (both sides) with a random orbit sander followed by a finishing sander for a better finish. To the manufacturer - I know it's expensive but if you replace the knives on your planer with a helix head system you can achieve a better finish. (My two cents)The Good - Everything fit. All components were present with a few extra screws instead of a few missing screws as we have probably all experienced with other "some assembly required" products. This is solid wood, not a thin easily scratched veneer over MDF. That means that if you need to sand out some small scratches or imperfections you will not sand through the veneer and reveal the particle board underneath.If you are going to stain this door before finishing I would recommend you stain it before assembly. When the door is assembled there are small decorative grooves running the length of the door that are much easier to stain before assembly rather than after. I sanded, stained, assembled and then sprayed it with lacquer. I have a spray gun for the lacquer so it was easy to get an even coat on the assembled door. If you decide to brush on the lacquer before assembly be aware that the boards fit together with a tongue-and-groove system and if you allow any lacquer to puddle on the tongue or in the groove you will need to be sanding or chiseling before final assemble in order to have a good fit.Hope this helps. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Customer Service and Quality product for the money! *by S***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2018* OMG I Love the customer service. I searched the internet for barn doors for weeks. I wanted something that looked good at an affordable price, that wasn't too heavy. I needed to put two doors together and have them slide to the right, thus affording privacy to the master bathroom. The third door replaced a pocket door to the closet inside.Within 1 hour of ordering my doors I received a call from a representative (Jun) who kindly reviewed my order and made a few modifications to insure I had all the necessary parts, which I didn't!The door kits arrived on schedule and were very well packaged. Again, the customer service representative followed up with texts. My carpenter had a few questions and they were answered within a few minutes. A few modifications were made to brace the two doors and adjust the track for an uneven wall!I enjoyed staining the doors and putting them together. I highly recommend these barn door kits. I have had many compliments on the look and qualityI enjoyed my conversations with the representative, Jun, and have never had such personalized service from an online company! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Might not be the look you want. *by B***. on Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2019* The product arrived on time and was packaged well. The knotty alder is indeed knotty with several large holes and big cracks. It did take the stain well but when it came to put the sealer on, due to the texture of the wood, there's several spots that look as if no sealer was applying at all. In my application I needed the routed gap at the bottom of the door which was a real problem to accomplish, I don't know why they can't send the boards pre scored on one end if that's going to be an issue.
