    CMC Magentics Media

Tested with LG BH10LS30/BH12LS30/BH12LS35 drive and went through the entire spindle without a single coaster. The disc MID is CMCMAG-BA5. Recording surface is sapphire, low thickness, and does not have a hard coat. Post-recording shows constant linear velocity burn with same shade/color from start to finish @ 4x write speed. Even though it will overburn @ 10x, I recommend sticking with 4x for better quality. Inkjet printing surface soaks up ink pretty well and dries instantly. The fact is, materials have finite life spans and the equipment that handles it gets worn (older but still usable materials, equipment that was not working 100% during the disc manufacturing process, part of the batch may have been damaged or contaminated with other materials, etc). That's where lower grade media comes from. When manufacturers don't meet perfect to ideal specifications, the product is flagged as "not perfect but still useable" and sold off for a lower price. The products are not so damaged as to need recycle or destruction, so the manufacturer separates them into categories. The primary graded media becomes the high standard/archival grade. The secondary graded media is often sold at steep discounts to bulk resellers, and is almost always marketed as "value" or "budget" media. With that in mind, I think this product is great with good value for the money. Only time will test durability but is not expected for this price. Because it lacks the hard coat it is more prone to dust and scratches so be careful when handling the disc. I would recommend and buy this product again.-UPDATE-Panasonic, Samsung and Sony BD Drives show slight increase in burn quality, but be careful with higher burn speeds. Vibration test shows imbalance of 6.7g/mm @ 8,000rpm. That's 6x more than the allowed limit. This is what causes loud drives and if you're using an LG, it won't last long. Printing surface is inconsistent, while some prints turn out fine, others don't. The last 14 discs of 2nd spindle were damaged and useless.

    Not too bad...

Out of nearly 100 disks I have burned, I have had only 1 bad burn. However, out of all that I have burned, 3 have cracked, starting in the hub. The cracking is NOT due to abusive handling sine they all have been placed into protective Blu-Ray cases. This is not good since I have recorded them, verified them, sent them out and then get a message back that they cracked. Since I am making review copies of a yet-to-be-released feature film, that is pretty annoying. One cracked during the initial burn process and the other two a few weeks later. However, compared to some other brands, this one is not that bad. In my opinion, the Optical Quantum brand has to have the worst quality and yields. Also, I have not seen cracked disks since the first 50 disk cake box.The odd part of this is that I have never seen this cracking problem on any the regular ValueDisk DVD blanks, either -R or +R, just these BD-R disks.Update:After going through nearly 300 additional disks, I have had only 3 duds and no broken disks. Pretty good odds.

    Severe Quality Control Issue's.

The failiure rate on the white labels isn't great. The silver ones with ValueDisc printed on one side fare better.Update: June 21 2017-- thrown this to 1 star. White labels pure crap. :( Failure rate I've toss about 25 discs out of this 50 pack. so Value Stink more like it. The ones that actually say Value Disc on the label , very rarely have any issues but these. Come On Value Disc get with the program :( I had a better success rate with the Picasso discs everyone I guess hated. LTH discs? Whatever, The fail rate was about 5 % not 60 %
