Review: UPDATED review: very happy with two of these fans - Original review before receiving replacement: Looks nice, but produces a weird humming noise. We have the same one installed in our office, we’ve had it for about two years, and it doesn’t make this sound. Attached video of it starting up. Updated review: Ordered this fan for our home office and loved it. So we repurchased it for our son’s nursery. Once installed the nursery fan was buzzing so I had a replacement sent. This replacement works so well, and without any buzzing noise. The only noise is the start up on the highest setting in my opinion. The instructions are very easy to follow. Follow them closely, because it can be easy to get ahead of yourself and end up messing up to the point you have to restart on the down-rod attachment portion. The remote is super nice depending on your life style. I usually keep the switch flipped on, and have the fan running, without the light on. Personally, I don’t use any of the buttons on the right side of the remote other than the light button at the top.
Review: Pretty good living room ceiling fan! - We have an angled high ceiling in our living room and needed to replace our old ceiling fan. Found this one and thought it looked sharp. Everything worked easily enough. Bought a 24" down rod to bring it off the angled ceiling. The hardest part was actually getting the angle right. At the base of the top cover, it wouldn't allow past a certain angle, so I had to bend it a bit to get it to allow the ceiling fan to sit level. It's not an extreme angle, but still needed it which we didn't think would be an issue. The downrod sizing was also strange because the top part that connects with the base/outlet was 3/4" but the bottom part that connects with the fan was 1". We had a 3/4" downrod we used, and I tightened the set screws so it feels solid, but it meant we had to do some balancing on the fan to get it to not wobble. We also bypassed the controller module in place of a wall light dimmer/fan control. When doing so wiring will be: White(fan) to White(outlet) Blue(fan) to Red(outlet) Black(fan) to Black(outlet) Green(fan) to Green(base) to Green or uninsulated copper(outlet) The blue wire controls the light, so you'll want to make sure you connect it to whatever your dimmer is one. Really good dimming range. Our old fan was a 6-blade 50", this is a 5-blade 52", so we thought airflow would be pretty similar and it is. Pretty good for our living room. Also, comes with 3, 5W LED bulbs, which I didn't expect. My wife really likes the look! Outstanding value. Really difficult to find better quality fans for the lower price, so we were thrilled to find this one. Would definitely recommend for medium sized living rooms!

**Q: Can this fan be used with two switches instead of the remote. Have one switch for the light and another for the fan?**
A: Yes and No. I have two major issues with this fan. To start, this is a remote operated unit and it comes with a receiver that must be installed in-line with all of the other wiring for the fan. This is a problem because the receiver is far too large to be housed anywhere within the unit or within the ceiling, and is far too ugly to be mounted outside. This leads me to my second issue. I proceeded with installation without the receiver planning to operate it just by using the wall switch only to find out that there is no way to control this fan without the use of the remote. There are no speed dials or switches to control the lights. Additionally I have disassembled and rewired twice and the lights still will not come on. I would select a different unit if I were you. It looks great cosmetically but there were some major oversights with regard to its usability.

**Q: The lights work but the fan doesn’t work. Anyone else having this problem??**
A: If it’s a fresh install. Turn the fan on high and smack it with your hand on the top of the motor housing a few times. (Firm but not super hard). It’s just an electric motor with brushes. Chances are the brushes are stuck to the commutator. This happened on one of the three of these fans I bought. The other possibility would be the fan is wired incorrectly so check all connections. You will know it’s wired right but brushes stuck if you put your hand on the motor and turn fan on. You will feel a very faint buzzing/vibration (with fan on high). 

If the fan has been installed for a while and stopped working brushes are probably worn and need to be replaced.

**Q: What is the measurement from flush mount to the very bottom of the light? I want to make sure it doesn’t come too low for the space I’m wanting to put**
A: 11 inches

**Q: Can this be installed with a flush mount adapter so it is closer to the ceiling**
A: the flushmount is pretty close at most it's 3-4"

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy install, nice replacement for my old fan, love the look!

This is the second Honeywell fan I have purchased in four months. I also have the 50690-01 Bonterra, 52", Matte Black. Both of them were easy to install, exactly alike--no tricky wiring, easy replacement for my older fans, and I am satisfied with the amount of air they move. Follow the instructions and you will have an easy time installing this. The remote is responsive and no issues there and no setup/pairing involved. I really wish these companies would develop something more appealing to the eye for a remote and maybe something with a nicer looking wall mount or over the switch stick-on mount like Hunter. I supposed that if I wanted to add this fan to my hub I could always swap the wall switch for a smart switch to get the off/on working and then install smart bulbs in the far so I can add them to SmartThings, or Hue, and/or Alexa. This would only support off/on through the wall switch and off/on of the lights if the wall switch was on--no speed settings.
