Instead of barely making it through a mag, you can shoot all day. The faster the bullet, the more benefit you get from a brake. With big slow heavy bullets you get very little benefit from a brake at all and need a good recoil pad instead. This recoil pad is very solid with very little give, but under the intense recoil of a 450, it compresses and makes a world of difference. It comes to the shoulder quickly despite being slightly wider and you would never know it wasn't originally part of the stock. It attaches solidly and seamlessly with no tools which is the first hint at what an awesome part this is. When you see your shoulder the day after shooting and notice it's red instead of black and blue and purple you will love it. You can throw the rifle at the ground butt first and bounce it back to your hand to give you an idea of the springyness. I know it looks rounded and you would think that would reduce the contact with your shoulder which is true, but only until recoil compresses it. Under full compression it is perfectly formed and welded to your shoulder, even if you don't get a good contact with your shoulder in the first place. If you have a 450 bushmaster, 458 socom, or 50 beowulf then you need this part.
