This scared me to study a bit harder a few days prior to my testing date which probably helped. What may have helped me more though were the explanations to the answers to some of the questions that I answered wrong as well as the websites that are referenced.Both mock exams included in this book are harder than the actual test which might be a good thing. I highly recommend taking additional practice tests as the questions in this book do not cover the entire range of subjects that may be covered on the exam. There are a few that can be found online for free. Also, if you need more practice some of my peers who passed the exam spent $50 for this: http://www.gbes.com/store/products/PTLEEDGREENASSOCIATE.htmlFor $35, I think this book is a bit pricey for only two Mock exams. However, I would still recommend using this book for practice. I deducted a star because it's not a good representation of the actual exam in terms of difficulty and there are many typos and grammatical errors. See my review for the Green book (LEED Green Associate Exam Guide) for more info on how I passed. ### ⭐ Terrible and Frustrating! *by W***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2012* This is the worst test preparation/mock exam book I have ever read. There are several flaws:1. The author uses 25% of the book as a shameful infomercial to sell you his other LEED study guides and LEED mock exam books. When he's not selling you another one of his books, he's telling you how smart he is and how your only chance of passing the exam is with his "gifted" help and "insightful" books.2. I get the impression that the author is not a native english speaker. At times, the text-- particularly the ever important test questions-- are written in disjointed and difficult-to-read sentence structures. More importantly, the nuance of a question and answer series is lost on the reader completely or only attainable through a tortured intepretation of the question's language.3. The questions themselves are not helpful. Rather than offering choices that are theory, application or analytically based, the author distinguishes choices by things like spelling or punctuation-- for example, "portable" water vs. "potable" water. The problem is, the real test doesn't engage in this low-level deceit (except with regard to USGBC logos and references). In fact, the test challenges the examinee in theory, application and analysis.4. Questions with multiple answers are often not identified as such-- a critical issue with the real test and one that the test taker needs to prepare for.In the end, I ditched the book as I came to distrust any of the rhetoric, process or answers. Frankly, I didn't want potentially bad information to taint my study process. Honestly, I feel like I passed this exam despite this book and despite the author's "help". ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These are TOUGH sample tests. You need this book. *by G***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2014* I used this book as a review in the day or two before my exam. The questions in this book could very well be found on the exam, but most actual exam questions will not be as complex as they are made here. Most of these questions on these mock exams have a twist or trick and many can only be answered if you know the materials backwards and forward. This makes for GREAT exam preparation because it makes you acutely aware of the types of tricks and the level of detail you MIGHT see on the exam. When I went in for the exam today my eyes were wide open.If you read what Mr. Chen states in his book, the exam has to test you on the main concepts more that the detail in order to make the exam and certification legally defensable.
