They actually go down pretty far, hard to tell from my pix since i tucked the strings behind the couch, but I'd say they are a perfect length. Also love the different light settings, so you can fade/ light up, have them blinking, or on steady to go with whatever ambience you prefer. These are "warm" led lights, which i actually love for my living room where i will be using!!!!!
