Plays CDs with sharp clarity as well. If you like to blast your music, this ain't the player for you. It's louder than my last unit which was bigger, and gives you plenty of crisp sound for a single dwelling. Plenty loud enough for one room and most parts of the house. For $50 this is actually a REALLY good buy and I would DEFINATELY reccommend it. It's also very easy to operate and very straight forward. Im happy with it and would buy it again for sure. And I got this for my end table in my living room. Well I put a cd in it and it played 10 seconds and freaking quit and would not play anymore.
