The auto turner eliminateds rememering to turn the eggs each day, also temperature stays more consistant, since you are not opening to incy to turn eggs. This icubatorworks well if you house stays a steady ambient temp. It doesn't work so well if it doesn't. I used to heat my home with a wood stove, and had a very low hatch rate. We now hve heat pumps, and as a result the heat is steadier throughout the whole house, making it easier for the incy to maintain a steady temp. I only had to fill the third tray for the 1st 18 days and the 4th tray for lockdown. I think if I would have filled the 1st tray like they suggested I wouldn't have as good of success. Also, thermostat needed to be adjusted often. If the room you have it in does not stay a perfect temp then you will constantly be adjusting it.
