Timer function worked well (we had them lit 4 hrs a day), and the batteries lasted a long time. Months, actually, which was a pleasant surprise.The big issue was that after we changed the batteries the second time, all the candles stopped working. It wasn’t a case of battery corrosion, the candles were getting dim so I changed out the batteries, and suddenly they would no longer turn on. It wasn’t the remote, as the switch on the bottom of each candle itself wouldn't work.
