Good fit for an Original 90's USA Blues Deluxe

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2023*

Finally decided to try these on my 1993 Blues Deluxe Amp after years of contemplating. As it turned out, installation was very easy. Didn't need the included long screws as the exsisting lower side chassis screws worked great and are threaded right to the amp chassis. After the legs were attached I tilted the amp to desired angle and drilled 1/8" pilot holes for the leg stops. I should have done this years ago. Sonically sounds much better and looks very cool too. These are thick heavy chromed steel and look cool retro.

Works fine on my Fender Blues Jr. amp

*by R***O on Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2023*

Although they were fairly easy to install, it would be nice if Fender included some type of template based on the amp size to mark off the holes for hardware placement, JMO. I did what most said they did and looked up installment on You Tube. They work great!

Works, and here's how to put them on a '65 Deluxe Reverb Re-issue

*by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2014*

These work as expected. As everyone says, it is annoying that there are no instructions and no measurements, and that is why I deducted 1 star. I paid about $35, and true to form, Amazon lowered the price a week later and was selling them for $30 (grrrr.) Of course when I came back later to buy a 2nd set for another amp, they are $37.99! Timing is everything on amazon...What you need to know:- When mounting with the hardware, the order of pieces is: long screw, leg, flatwasher, amplifier side, flat washer, split washer, flatwasher, nylon locknut.- The 2 wood screws and button looking things are the stops.Placement for using these 14" tilt back legs on a Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Re-issue (2014):** NOTE if you are putting on any other amp, the measurements will be different !**- Placement and tiltback angle: To achieve approx 30 degree tiltback, I mounted as follows:- The leg (center) bolt I placed 1-3/4" from the back edge, and 5-1/4" from the top edge. This allowed the screw and washers to just clear the backplate support boards (approx 1x1's, mounted about 0.5" in). I read someone else mounted at 1 1/2" in, and I don't see how they could have on a '65 DRRI, unless those supports have moved. The back edge of those is at 1 1/2".- Measure carefully, then double or triple check it before you drill. You want both sides in the exact same location.- BEFORE drilling remove the upper half backplate (4 screws), and the tube closest to the side edge.- I removed the power cord tie down ( 1 screw) as well.. to allow pulling the power cord out of the general area of drilling.- I placed blue painter's tape on both the inside and outside before marking and drilling. This serves two purposes: It allows for easier, more readable marking, and it helps control any splitting on the drill through. Drill slowly, and stick your left hand inside the amp area to catch what little sawdust comes through, the rest should come out the top. (I'm assuming you will turn the amp on its side to drill each side.)- I placed the stops 3-3/4" from the top and 3-3/4" from the back edge. This achieved about 30 degrees of tiltback on my 65 DRRI, or maybe just a little more like 35%. I don't think you want to go back much further than that as you still want that amp pointed out at the audience, not up at the ceiling.UPDATE: I have gigged with this many times since installing these legs. They are really handy for fast setup at jams, and even at gigs where I have more time to set up, I still don't carry an amp stand any more. Really happy with this addition to my DRRI.DISCLAIMER: If you follow my measurements and drill into something, it's because your amp is different than mine and you didn't check before you drilled. So check before you drill. Then, check again. Again, other amps would be different!!HANDY ACCESSORY: for '65 DRRI Owners- if you are tired of needing your footswitch to turn on reverb, speed and intensity functions - search e-bay or reverb for "Always On Plug". I made a few shunt plugs that go in the footswitch jack so you don't need the footswitch at all to take advantage of all the features of the amp. People like them....get one if you have a DRRI or a Super Reverb!
