Once you get it down, it's super easy to use. The metal is a bit thinner than some regular machetes. I've been using a particular one now for about 3 years and it's the only one I choose to use now and it's still going strong and I haven't even needed to sharpen the blades yet. The handle is wrapped nicely and is easy and feels good to hold in my female hands. You know sometimes handles can be too big for a female hand, that's all I mean by that. I will say on the handle, after 3 years of use, The string moves around a bit. The string has held up just fine, it's not broken, it just moves around a bit. Wear good garden gloves or I may eventually rewrap it. It came in a large box and was pretty secure. It comes in a sheath which has a few buckles and a strap with a arm sling. This thing is really sharp and almost scary looking.
