I use it to feed catfish in my pond, set to throw a few seconds morning and evening. It throws maybe 15 feet in about a 30 degree arc and has been reliable. No jams and feed drops into the spinner with no problems. But then, we don't let the feed get too low. Still working on original battery charge. Top fits well, unlike comments from other reviewers. Maybe Moultrie redesigned it? I have it hanging from a roof support beam on a covered dock and so far it hasn't been bothered by raccoons or other critters. Review: Good product ruined by “value engineering” - I have two of these that have worked great for two straight years. Fired every time with a full bucket of feed. When I ordered more I was surprised to see the updated interface. Took a few minutes to get to know the new interface but after that it is easier to program. The problem is that there’s something in the motor or power circuit that was redesigned and now the motor gets stuck and will not spin without manually turning it to get it out of rotor lock. As such these are completely worthless. You’d be better off going out every day and tossing out a handful of feed. Is it for deer only??** A: I use this for that reason only. It works wonderful as a pond feeder. I used it for a small pond with hybrid bluegills. It worked so well that I bought another one for my larger pond with bass and bluegill. The timer works well but occasionally the alligator clips vibrate off of the battery. **Q: Does this model come with the funnel plate to attach to the bucket? The old model had one but when I opened the box I did not have one for this model** A: Hi from Native Outdoors! This has the new Quick Lock attachment. The part that mounts to the bottom of the bucket acts as the funnel. It should be located inside the feeder where the timer and motor are located. **Q: How far does this directional feeder throw feed?** A: 20' at the most. I have this mounted about 30" above the water line using lil strike fish pellets about 1/8" in size. Will probably sling corn further. Not a single complaint with this product. **Q: Will this work in my mini pig pens for their pellets?** A: I feed pellet type feed to my fish. Earlier I posted a method to stop moisture from getting in and plugging the feeder. Be sure to read. Simple yet effective.
