It remembers the setting on power down. This works well for my application as I use it in my motorcycle's pilot light that sits above the headlight. I use the white flashing setting to get people to see me better.But that brings me to the color issue. The white is extremely blue. So blue, I'm waiting for a cop to pull me over, so I have the remote with me under the bike seat.
