In general it works great but could be a little higher so that totes or larger suitcases fit. When it's cold out, the zipper is quite difficult due to its material but overall a great design. It did get wet once on a cold trip when it snowed and rained and then got warm, the inside had some condensation but it was minimal and not actually a leak. Did not notice a change in gas mileage.
