You've got the cheapest - Telesin - which is sold by EVERYBODY EVERYWHERE, is branded a million ways and seems to get many poor reviews. Then you have this product - the Shoot. Being Chinese it is, of course, lacking in clear English descriptions across the internet. To be clear, there are several versions to accommodate whether you have a GoPro BacPac or not inside your waterproof housing.This 2.0 version is for cameras WITHOUT BacPacs - i.e. the standard GoPro Hero 3+ and Hero 4 housing just for the camera. There are packages of this item that include Shoot's own waterproof housing (more expensive) and I spent two weeks hunting down comments and videos. Like the Telesin, the housing included in these packages has been known to leak.I'd come across the odd comment saying that you CAN use a real GoPro housing with the dome, and many saying you can't. As far as I can tell, the Shoot has been upgraded at some point to allow use of a real, original GoPro housing. Either way, I got tired of reading conflicting information and bought this to test it out with my Hero 4 Silver waterproof housing.To be clear, I bought the 6" Shoot 2.0.I can confirm that my housing fits, is secure and does not appear to leak based on half an hour submerged in a bath. I'll be testing it out fully in a few week's time.As for the product itself, it appears rather well-made and solid. There were no leaks from the edges and the plastic petals are not flimsy. The rear cage that holds the housing into the dome is metal and, unlike the Telesin brand (where you have to turn it on and leave it on), includes an integral rocker in order to turn on and off the camera. Of course, with both the Telesin and Shoot, you could put the camera in quick shoot mode and use the shutter button to turn it on and off.I did research ways to make a DIY dome, but it involved ruining a housing by cutting out the front button and the costs of the materials were only about £15 less than buying this one. With the Shoot, I can keep the camera in the housing and just slot it into the dome when I want to get a different shot.Actually putting the camera into the dome is slightly tricky as the screws on the cage are a little short. You have to press the cage down quite forcefully before you can get the screw started, whereas a longer screw would allow you to start the screw and use its torque to pull the cage down to secure the housing. It's not something you can do in a hurry. You do get a screwdriver in the box though, which locate in slots on the screws, but hand tightening is fairly easy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great beam pattern. Brighter would be nice but this is a minor niggle. Very good for the money. *by D***. on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 April 2017* With two of these on full power there is enough light to film at depth, in wrecks or on a night dive.The beam pattern is what bumped this unit from 4 stars to 5, it's fantastic - a nice oval pattern with no hotspots, very good.Don't know how long the battery lasts as it has always lasted for a full dives filming (at least an hour) and then charged up again.Tip: Turn them on before entering the water, on a stride entry I've seen goosenecks pop in half and whatever attached sink. With the lamp on, you'll find it (unless you enter the briney over some unfathomable abyss).A bit more brightness would have been nice, but having two - and let's face it, their cheap enough to buy a whole bunch - means you have your backup lamp should one fail.I've used these on 20+ dives now with no problems at all, the seals keep the brine out to a personally verifiable 32 metres at least. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great underwater light! *by T***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 June 2016* This is a great light! If you have an action camera that you want to use underwater, I highly recommend this. I often found that when filming underwater, especially in the deeper parts, it was often very dark and the picture was not clear. However, this light completely changed that. This is completely waterproof (up to 40 metres- then the water pressure becomes too great) and works really well. It simply has one button to use the light. It has multiple light settings at different light levels, and there is even an option to make the light flash. The light is incredibly bright. It really helps to see underwater, even on the lower settings. The light is quite small too, it is very portable and quite light so it won't be a bother to use. I can't believe how bright it is considering the size and weight. With this you also receive the micro-usb charging cable, a mount and a screw so you can mount the light onto different things. The battery life of this light is pretty good too, as it can last for near to 90 minutes on the maximum setting, and about 6 hours in power saving mode!Overall, this light is excellent. It is small and portable, is incredibly bright and has a good battery life.
