Review: More bang for your buck - I am writing this review after two full years of using this knife, and it hasn't let me down yet! That being said, I put more value in quality than price - my daily chef knife has been the $150 MAC Pro for years. When I first started looking for a paring knife, of course I was attracted to the big names like Wüsthof, Global, and Henkels. However, after reading the reviews I decided to give this little guy a chance. I'm willing to spend $40 on a paring knife, but I can certainly spend a few bucks to see if I like this one more. I'm so glad I did - this knife lives up to the all the other glowing reviews. It comes sharp out of the box and has stayed that way with very little decline in my time using it. The handle is comfortable enough in my hand (I'm right handed, but it's symmetrical so a lefty would also find it easy to use). The blade holds up to tough use but is slightly flexible so it feels more like an extension of my hand. The best part is the price! Great performance for 1/3 to 1/5 the price of comparable products. That's a winner in my book. If there is a negative, perhaps I would prefer that it had a little more heft. If weight is very, very important to you, go give an all-metal Global a try. Otherwise, pick up one of these knives and get a great product for a fraction of the cost of another paring knife.

**Q: Where is it made**
A: My paring knife has no marking on it, but the Victorinox packaging says (on the back) it was made in Switzerland. Great little knife.

**Q: description says fibrox handle but the picture seems to contradict this...is this the case?**
A: The Knife labeled, "Victorinox Swiss Army 3-1/4-Inch Fibrox Straight Edge Paring Knife, Black" which I purchased from Amazon has a polypropylene handle, not Fibrox.  On this page it is listed as being Item model number: 45508, but the item I received (twice) says 40508 on the sleeve the knife came in.  I am still in search of the, as of yet, elusive Victorinox paring knife with Fibrox handle which Cooks Illustrated described as:"Product name: Victorinox Fibrox Paring Knife, 3 1/4-inchManufacturer: Victorinox Model Number: 40600 Recommendation Status: Highly Recommended"The Amazon link at Cooks Illustrated brings one to the Amazon page:  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EYUDZE/?tag=cioequippilot-20   (Forschner 3.25" Paring Knife) which has no mention of a Fibrox handle, but instead describes the handle as, "Polypropylene handles is dishwasher safe."Amazon says it is working on this problem.

**Q: What is the model number of the Victorinox knife with the Fibrox handle ?   It is not the one on this page, despite what the title says.**
A: If you're still interested, this is the set of three paring knives with Fibrax handles (or so it states): https://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Swiss-Classic-3-Piece-Paring/dp/B005LRYWEW/ref=psdc_284507_t4_B008M5U1UE. The price at the time I'm writing is $15.48 and includes 3-1/4" Serrated Parer, 3-1/4" Straight Parer, and 2 -1/2" Bird's Beak Parer.  Hope that helps. I DO have to say though, in the picture for the set, the knives appear to have polypropylene handles. I could be wrong though...been wrong before.... Anyway, have a good day!

**Q: What sheath would I order to fit this knife?**
A: For the Victorinox 40600 3.25" Paring Knife there is a Victorinox Paring Knife Pouch with Clip.This would most likely be the best option for this pairing knife.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A really useful knife which I reach for all the time.

This is a really good find. It is a useful and durable knife that I reach for all the time in my kitchen, and I am sort of a knife fanatic. I have tried literally 7 different paring knives and while they start out sharp, they generally need a lot of care and re-sharpening/honing. This knife feels light and kind of flimsy but it has a very thin blade and is actually very durable. It is kind of like using a scalpel, which I use at work. It is very light but has a very sharp edge and re-sharpens easily with a sharpening steel.
